Any home natural gas code experts?

I decided to hook up the outside natural gas line to my firepit. This is a pic of where the 1/2" line comes out of my house and hooks into the 1/2" CSST that runs under my porch to the other side of my patio where the firepit is. The underground part is in 1 1/2" PVC that is sealed. I still need to seal where the CSST comes out of the ground and add a bracket to attach the black pipe to the wall.

I tested all the connection with soapy water and got no bubbles. Firepit works great.

Can someone in the know tell me if there are any code issues with this part of the hookup?

Thanks,

Corn

If water gets in the PVC, it may crush the gas pipe in winter.

How well can you seal the ends ?

Have you called your county building inspector to see what the building code says?

Pretty sure that wouldn't pass in Fresno county California. But our codes are pretty stringent

I don't think you are allowed to have that yellow line exposed.

They are going to tell you to run hard pipe much closer to the appliance. Hoping you are using all malleable fittings and no cast iron. I would not hide the valve handle either.

How did you happen to have a gas line come out of your house?
I was not allowed to use "Unions" in 1971.

It was a new build and I had them install the line.

The part they installed ended after the valve.

Thought you made up the length of black pipe. Did they install the street ell? Did they leave the valve handle hidden?
Thinking you want to get that line out of the dirt where there is frost heave to contend with and run hard pipe, closer to the appliance, close to the house sill. Finish the connection with hard pipe if the appliance is rigidly installed and immovable. Otherwise use flexible installation kit.

The valve handle is not hidden, it's on the other side of the pipe coming out of the wall.

I installed the street elbow. They just had a nipple and cap coming straight out.

I had my propane lines installed by a utility worker who did it as his side hussle. It was then all inspected by the gas company along with each of the appliances I installed. The installer used multiple unions on my system. All were checked for leaks and passed.

Not sure how to do this install without a union. The CSST fitting is not a slip type connection, so nothing can slip except the union.

National Fuel Gas Code" (NFPA 54)

Installation would not pass inspection
Should have a Permit prior to installation
Installation needs to be pressure tested.....1 1/2X working pressure but not less then 3 psi (typically 10 psi air pressure for minimum of 10 minutes)

CSST must be run inside SEALED/Water Tight Conduit 1/2" larger then diameter of CSST

Where is the Drip Leg?

Homeowners Insurnace con be affected if NOT Installed/Permitted/Inspected on Gas Lines
