both my grammars have passed away.
i get a chuckle out of the spelling police. it seems they are more concerned about the spelling than solving the problem.
maybe they dont have anything else to contribute.
i have always thought the main reason to ask a question or to reply to a question on a forum was to share information, not get a lesson in english composition, or spelling.
ive seen post on 40 ton wenches, viscous dogs, and other mistakes, but i got the meaning without going to the extent of sending them a message, chastising their mistakes.
one thing i learned long ago is that you dont make yourself look good by making someone else look bad.
the other is that if you cant contribute, just read it. snide comments really dont help.
people remember a slight long after they remember a good deed or comment.
but are we going to change human nature?
probably not, but we can change ourselves. maybe thats the place to start.

I'm a terribly slow typist so I've started using the dictation feature on my iPad. It spells JUST like the above at times. BTW - I typed this reply.

I don't care about grammar or spelling on a forum like this, but I get absolutely livid about people who are supposed to be writers using incorrect grammar. That said, some of the most intelligent folks I know can't spell to save their lives. I'd rather read posts from folks who know their stuff than those who only want to show off their "superiority".

There was something on TV the other day saying that as long as the first letter and last letter are in their respective position in a word, the order of the letters between them is often not so important because most people can still "read" and recognize the word anyway.
As lnog as the frist and lsat letetr are in tiehr rseptcive psoitoi in a wrod, the odrer of the letrets betewen tehm is not so ipmtroent ...
I don't know if I buy that assumption, but it is very intriguing.

Ok, call me a skeptic. I took a random sentence that has nothing to do with this topic. How many can read this sentence? Please don’t spoil it for others. If you figure it out please send me a private message. I'll post the actual sentence tomorrow.

To send a PM click on the person's screen name in box on the left. From the drop down menu select the correct option. That will take you to where you can send a PM.
Ok

For some reason I can read that stuff quite easily. Must be a personality flaw on my part.

Ok, I'm impressed. I've gotten 5 PMs with the correct answer. I'll wait until this evening to post the original sentence. For those of you who could read it - was it immediately readable or did it take some work?
