Anyone ever bought from Alibaba?
I need a new oil pan for my 8.3 cummins and buying it from cummins is 700.00Can. but buying it from China through Alibaba is $130.00Can. plus shipping.
I prefer not to buy stuff from China but for almost a 600.00 savings I will. I just don't know anything about Alibaba other then seeing it while searching for other parts.

Once ordered a backup camera. Didn't work when received. Was a problem to return and get refunded. Finally got refund by going through credit card.

My experience was very slow shipping. it is coming from China. I knew this when I ordered and just waited 6 weeks.

Alibaba is like a E-Bay or Amazon, merchants use Alibaba as a way to promote products.
I don't really care for dealing with them, I prefer doing business directly with the producing company. I would suggest using a Credit card that protects purchases or PayPal that charges back the supplier and you get your money back.

All the time. There are factories and there are resellers posing as factories. I only deal with factories. Do research to make sure as best as you can that they are legit. Feel free to message me and I can help. I have several Chinese friends in Shanghai, Wenzhou, and Ningbo that can find out for me if they are legit.

I used to order a lot of small items from Alibaba years ago. Now I don't order anything from them due to extremely long shipping times....months.
Returning items is not possible from my experience.
My problems started when Covid hit them.

I've used Ali Express, which is kind of a cross between eBay and Amazon. If a listing says "30 day delivery', believe it. That way you're pleased when it took just 3 weeks.
I was buying electronic stuff not immediately available in the USA, so an oil pan seller may be different... but I got what I paid for.

I've only bought from them one time. It was for a dash-cam. It took 6 weeks to get here, it worked for three days then quit. No more for me,

Return shipping
I never gave it a thought but bought an item and had to return it back to China. Cost $75 to return an item worth $120. Never again.
