Boondocking, Where would You go

Since it looks like we may not be able to travel freely till maybe June or even July. Where would you go to boondock to avoid the heat. I am in the midwest but have no trouble traveling to the west or east coasts. I just want somewhere that I dont need to run the genn6 to run the AC all day and night

We've been doing Sunday recce trips and have found a few spots near/beside water in the Cascades. Enough southern exposure on the roof solar to keep the beer cold.

For elbow room, nature, and cool weather, I would pick Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest in southern Wyoming, that is if you don't mind the nearest Wal-Mart being 50-75 miles away. I have not explored all of it, just spent most of a week in the area in the summer of 2016, but I can tell you there are some semi-developed roadside boondocking spots along forest road 550 (look for bottle creek campground west of Riverside, WY, and keep going further down that same road, or stay in one of the other small campgrounds for minimal fee). Though be aware the further you get off the highway, the more washboard the road became when I was there.

We drove the forest road all the way through to Steamboat Lake State park, and then to Steamboat Springs,CO, but we were in a rented van, not sure I would want to subject my RV that that many miles of washboard surface, but it was a spectacular 50 or so mile drive in about 4 hours.
