Brother with cancer

Hi all,
On the 21st my brother in Canada is having his bladder removed due to cancer.
He is 63 and we just reunited over the internet after 35 years.
I am in Texas and cannot get up there right now but talk to him often now and give him support.
Any good karma you can send him in your thoughts.
His name is Barry and he is a great guy. His wife Wendy is by his side.
Thanks all of you for reading this.

Jeff (Barrys not so little brother LOL )

Jeff, will put Barry in my prayers. Before he takes that very aggressive step have you investigated Proton Therapy. Here in Houston MD Anderson Cancer center has some very aggressive non invasive procedures. I know that there are proton centers in cities closer to the Canadian border.

Unfortunately I know about this because our 4 year old grandson was recently diagnosed with a similar type of cancer and he is currently undergoing proton treatments along with chemo.

Sounds good.
My wife is a researcher 35 years now and worked at MD Anderson when she was starting out.
Ill ask her about it.
Thanks for your input and I will certainly be thinking of your grandson.
All the best to you and your family.
Karen and I send our thoughts and prayers.

Jeff, We will put Barry in our prayers, and will keep an eye open here for any and all up-dates. I myself had a cancer surgery done this past Feb and at the moment, cancer free! Think Good Thoughts and all will be Well!

Thanks!
Good to hear you are cancer free!
My wife has been doing cancer research for 35 years so always good to hear good news. It keeps her going. She is a good heart and it can be a cutthroat bunch.
Most are working hard with good intent but their are always the ambitious or political getting in the way. It is a shame but people plow through the BS and keep on trucking. Thanks so much for your kindness. Same to you from us!

Jeff,
Prayers for your brother.

My prayers also include that a cure for cancer be found. I hope your wife accomplishes research that will lead to a cure.

Prayers to You and your brother and all the others affected by this horrible disease, My Mom passed away 14 years ago from cancer in herr trach tube right at the lung. The radiation was working but the tissue wasn't growing back fast enough and so the good Lord took her home. bless you all.

Thanks

Thanks Wayne,Clay and Pebble,Abbie and Pam.

I as well offer my thoughts and prayers for all who suffer in this world.
Be assured there are plenty of dedicated non political good souls doing research.
As you know the shame of research is the bureaucratic ambitious "stewards" who inhibit much too often the need for supportive collaborative effort.
The idealistic short sightedness is a big factor also.
I have heart problems but I used to run my wifes laboratories and tried to function as a barrier to these distractions so my wife could fully concentrate on the research.
As an ex union rep I certainly made no friends with the idiots who unfortunately gain power to be in charge of things they have no moral business of being.
Most of them are self centered and political.
This is what most good researchers run into.
Hence students see this and get discouraged from making this a career.
Also even experienced scientists like my wife constantly have to deal with these inhibiting and unnecessary distractions from this important goal.
We too have friends and family suffering and dying so you can imagine how extra frustrating it is knowing how the system "works"

All of you take care,
Stay involved and be wary of the phonies you may run into.
Do not be afraid to question and seek second and third and fourth opinions.
The more we know the more we can get the system focused beyond the selfish.
We do not make a ton of money and are in debt like most.
We do this for the simple fact we see and must act.

I relate to your brother as I too am awaiting surgery to remove my bladder, probably in November. I just spent the past summer having chemo and it hasn't been a pleasant trip. I am still weak and light headed. Hoping to have some sense of normalcy soon. Hopefully the cancer is gone and I can get on with the rest of my life.

Sorry you have to go through that BS.
I had triple bypass 10 years ago and a few heart attacks since but it does not compare to what you are going through.
I sure wish cancer never existed.
Stay as strong as you have been.
Weak in body maybe but the strength people like you show is inspiring to others.
What fine examples we can be through adversity.
The world is shown great potential through great suffering.
Bring it on world! We will surmount it.

I hope you get to enjoy many years with your brother. I lost mine to cancer when he was 14.

Will send up prayers for your entire family. For healing, for peace, and for God's miracle of a cure.
Good luck, God Bless!
