Buying an RV site in Florida

We are considering purchasing an RV site in Florida. Our goal would be to buy one with a spacious paved pad site with either a Lanai, or a Casita and rent it out when we are not there. Wanted to hear from any owners or folks that have been to nice resorts style parks that both sell and rent out the sites for you. Looking for a place located between Orlando and Tampa.

There's The Great Outdoors, but that's going towards the east coast, not Tampa

Hi Neil and Pat. We own our lot in Emerald Pointe RV Resort in Zephyrhills, FL. Its about 30 miles northeast of Tampa. About an hour to Orlando or St. Petersburg. We have a screen porch attached to a building with washer/dryer and a refer in it.

We don't rent ours, but have let friends stay on it when we were not using it. HOA is $65 per month, includes water, trash, lawn maintenance and all the normal amenities like pool, shuffle biard, club house, library, weight room, pool tables and new pavilion under construction.

Hope this helps and good luck in your search.
Tom

A little further S but if Englwood Port Carlotte area is possible check out Myakka River Motorcoach Resort.
It is a small...100 site...resort run by owners that live onsite.
We have rented there twice and will be back Mar 2018.

Check out Bay Lake Motorcoach Resort in Polk City. It's just off I-4 & is smack dab between Tampa/Orlando. It's very close to Lakeland as far as shopping/restaurants and would be easy to get to. Also look at Mt. Olive Shores North, also in Polk City, but a little farther from I-4. MOS has homes & RV lots.

We're from this area, so have never stayed at either, but have driven through them to look.
