Can't get back to SLEEP!

Well, here I sit! Sipping a little Stoli as a sleep aid. Got a call a while ago from Alligiant Airlines! Any call at 2:00 AM causes alarm! The immediate thought is some one is sick, has died, is in trouble, etc!

It was nothing earth shattering! Our daughter and her family had just spent a weekend in Las Vegas visiting out son who lives there. Alligiant only flies from Las Vegas on Monday red eye to get them home. Our 15 year old grandson had left his cell phone at the Las Vegas airport!

Maybe he will get it back some day! Knowing his parents...it might be a while!

Our daughter and her husband have developed a business that pays them more money than they know how to spend! Bless them! Far better than the opposite!

I think any of us getting a call at 2:00 a.m. experience a little quickening of the pulse and hard to get back to sleep. I have my phone set to only allow close relatives to get through that time of night and if my phone rings during that time I KNOW something serious is afoot.

I think the OP was more of a conversation type of message. If this is what you took from it, maybe consider the actual meaning behind the post. They had a bit of shock from a late night phone call, and was thinking about this instead of falling back to sleep right away.

OP, if I am wrong please correct me

I had to read this a couple of times to understand it was the airline who made a kind of lost-and-found call. I think that is what happened. Nice of them to do that even if it was a little early in the morning.

At 79+ I am the oldest in our family line, so I no longer worry about the DW getting a call about the patriarch of our line dying. I think I might know.

Duster, you got it right. A little Vodka is a whole lot better than Ambien! No, I haven't a drinking problem...I had a sleeping problem. mickeybitsko is out of line jumping to conclusions about someone he/she doesn't know!

Mickybitsko was just poking fun. I'm sure no offense was intended. that's the problem with forums. There is no way to "read the room".

Really? He is making conversation of being woke up in the middle of the night while thinking nothing but bad stuff happening I think anybody would be a tad shook up over that.

I understand the feeling. I have a child in the military. One day I looked out to see two somber-looking guys in uniform getting out of a nondescript olive-green Ford parked on the street and coming up my driveway.

Turned out to be workers for a charity. But the mind goes in all directions at the time.

The airline called at 2 AM! Yep, right nice of them! I would have liked it better if they had waited until 6 or 7 though.
