Civil war battle just started east of my cabin
About two miles east, Federal troops encountered Rebel troops in Olustee, Fl. Very large contingent of both armies. The rebel troops have brought in artillery on flat bed railroad cars and pounding the federal troops. The federal troops have also launched a barrage of artillery.
there seems to be massive casualties. I am hearing the artillery as I type. Very scary situation.

I love civil war re-enactments. Revolutionary war re-enactments are a blast (no pun intended). We live close to where the battle of Monmouth took place. We go to the show quite often. So much history to explore.
Even Colonial Williamsburg does a small version with canon fire.

I assume the Battle of Monmouth was near Monmouth. Wish I had seen that when I was stationed there.

Sent a link to my son who is a Civil war Buff... he might enjoy some sunny weather next winter and a reenactment!
