I realized I wasn't doing may part when it came to global warming, so I got a class A. It gets about 7 mpg so I am putting out a lot of green house gasses that is keeping the world warm.

I also haven't been carrying my weight when it comes to employing people. I used to save a lot of money and had a large net worth - no longer. I spent a big chunk of money on the class A and ongoing expenses for repairs. I am keeping a lot of people working.

Also, RV park owners love me. I pay extra for 50 amp connections and use a lot of electricity. I also, need the larger and more expensive sites.

Towed a trailer of some sort and size for over 20 years. I grew tired of my daily driver being dictated by the size of my camper.
This last upgrade, we looked into fifth wheels and loved the roomy layouts, but, again, that would dictate the choice of daily drivers. And I didn't relish the idea of parking a one ton anywhere, my driveway, touristy locations, work, etc.

For us (and it's different for everybody), a class A offered a greater range of flexibility when it came to our personal comfort and overall enjoyment.
If it's pouring down rain when we get to our overnight spot, we don't have to get wet.
If I wake up hours before she does (which I typically do), I don't have to bother her when I'm ready to hit the road.
My only concern, when we were looking into buying a class A, was the toad, and it has been a non-issue; completely.

We've had both a TT and now a class A DP. Went from the TT to a gas class A to the DP. For us, as others have said, the reason was convenience. For weekend or short trip use the TT was fine. For longer trips, it just was not as easy as in the class A's. The best part about traveling in a class A for us is not having to worry about finding a clean restroom for the DW while traveling and when we get where we're going the inside of the coach is already at a comfortable temp. Setup is much easier with a class A with the most difficult part, leveling, being done from the comfort of the drivers seat. Also I can carry more "stuff" in the class A than I could in the TT.

The down side to class A's and C's are the costs associated with ownership of the beasts. They do cost more to maintain than a TT or 5th wheel. And you are paying more for the convenience. But for us, that convenience, for the way we use our RV is worth the extra cost.

Another reason we bought the TT is it's just the 2 of us and a couple small short legged dogs. When we do camp with family, they rent cabins at a KOA and we request a site near them.

We were tent campers for 30 years. We first considered restoring a small classic travel trailer, but my wife's Toyota FJ is not comfortable for long trips and my Tacoma is worse for her. Looked at class c motorhomes but that bunk overhanging the windshield kills the view out the windshield. Looked at newer class a motorhomes, too wide, too tall and too much. Stumbled across a 1995 Winnebago Warrior(a class) with low mileage and only 23' long by 8' wide. Perfect for the two of us and 1 small dog. Paid $8K for it and have another 4K in refurbishing and updating.
