Cleveland Clinic Rv parking
My husband and I will be traveling to the Cleveland Clinic (the Mellon center) in Ohio next month and are trying to decide if we want to travel by motorhome (we are in Kansas) or drive our car and stay in a hotel. I see on their website that they have overnight RV parking with electric and water hookups on campus and it is gated. Has anyone stayed there and what are your thoughts? Thanks

Safety and convenience? I'd stay on campus, especially if they are gated. Beside you will have your "home" with you.

I just called Cleveland Clinic parking services and RV parking has moved to a different location and it is not gated at this time, but it is supposedly free right now. I also asked if they still have a dump station and the person told me no, but they still have E&W. She did not seem too knowledgeable though and kept having to put me on hold to check on answers. The website has not been updated with this info so I do not know how true all this is.

Lynchow - my wife had heart surgery at Cleveland Clinic last August, I lived in the motorhome for three weeks. (The first surgery was a failure, so she had a second surgery). The RV parking was at 93rd street, and while there was electric and water, the electric was very spotty. I bought a whole coach surge protector before we went and was glad I did: you could not run the A/C at night because there was not enough amperage. There were a few nights I ran the generator to keep cool.
This is why it is free at this time. I was very appreciative of the RV parking as the hotels in the area are very expensive and a three week stay would have been financially impossible.
Also felt very safe, it's a rough area around the clinic, but extremely well patrolled. I never felt threatened.
Also, bring a siamese twin fitting for your water line, so you can share with a neighbor.
There is a dump in the lot, but no water hookup by it, so you will need a long hose to rinse.
PM me if you want more detail.
