Concealed Weapons Permit

Does this permit allow one to carry a weapon in all States or just the one it was issued in?

No it does not allow concealed carry in all states. You need to look up your state's reciprocity with other states.

Welcome to the forum.

No, there is not a universal concealed carry permit. It can vary from county to county in some states as to who will issue them. In Florida, it is a shall issue state as long as you have a clean record. There are several states that do accept it but you must be sure.

There are plenty of Apps that will allow you to pick your state and it will show who honors your carry permit and shows states different laws. I use "CCW" and it helps when I travel so know the laws for that state I'm in.

You also need to be aware of the laws regarding transportation of weapons in each state. There are lots of info sources.

There is no such thing as a universal state to state permit. Some states offer reciprocity with other states but many or most don't.
Use the suggested links above and decide for yourself. If you are traveling to a state which does offer reciprocity remember you may have to travel through states which don't.
Personally if I was traveling out of state I would leave my weapons home.

Just don't get caught in NJ, NY, or IL or try to cross into Canada with a weapon. Just remember Chicago has the Strictest gun laws in the Land.

question on CCP

So I will ask this question because seems some very knowledgeable information being displayed, and its more a counterpoint argument but like to see the replies:

My RV is considered my second home by law and income tax purposes.....

Soooooo I certainly do not need a concealed permit to have a gun in my home, then why would I need one to carry it in my RV??

Again not arguing or anything just generally curious why it is not the same.

Respectfully....

You still need to refer to each state's laws. And, don't confuse Concealed Carry with Transportation. And, it even gets more complicated with reference to handguns or long guns. It's a maze ...

HOME when parked, as it's moving it's considered a vehicle.

Duo; it would help if we knew in what state you reside, it makes a lot of difference. In fact even though in theory all states have concealed carry there are some where it is almost impossible to get. My go to site is Handgunlaw.us for information. It is possible to have more than one CCW, an Illinois resident CCW is honored in 27 states. If you add a Utah and Florida non-resident you can travel in 40 states that will honor your ability to protect yourself. Do your research and decide where you will travel but remember each state has its own rules that must be followed. Jim.

Thanks to all we reside in Florida and on this trip we're going to GA,TN,KY,IL,WS,MN IN, and where ever else the wind might blow us. I think after reading everyone's reply' we're leaving the HEAT at home! I don't have any room for an Attorney in the 5vr and that's what it sounds like I might need!!! Thanks to all good stuff as usual
