CPAP users

I, like many in here, use a CPAP mask for Apnea. Most people with Apnea, that I know, are always complaining about the comfort and fit of their masks. I thought a discussion of this with our members might be a good idea.

I have gone the route of several masks without finding the perfect fit. I currently use a Wisp mask and so far it is the best one for me. It's still not ideal. With so many different types of masks available you can't "test" them all. So what are you using? What are the pros and cons?

Tony, this is the mask I use. Been using it for years and it's very comfortable. You can get the "pillow" with small, medium, or large nasal cones. The nasal cones are super-soft, very comfortable!

Thanks, didn't know that, since the L fits my nose!

Super comfortable....

I've been using a CPAP for over 20 years - on my 3rd machine. I've tried many different masks over the years; nasal, pillow, full face, etc. The best that I've found for me is the Airfit N30i by Resmed(link is just where I buy my supplies - I have no financial interest in the company). It just lays across your nostrils without having anything protruding into your nose. Very comfortable and requires very little tension to stay in place. The only negative that I've encountered is that the strap tends to ride up on the back of my head during the night.

That looks like it would really be comfortable! I like the idea of the hose connecting at the top. I think I will give that a try next time I need to get a replacement! Thanks!

You won't be disappointed Joe. That Resmed one above looks nice too. I'm going on two years now with the current Dreamwear mask. It's about time for a new one lol...

Are you aware of the recall on Philips CPAP units?

I use a ResMed AirFit P10.

https://www.cpapstoreusa.com/product...dgear-fitpack/

There is nothing to it, but the downside is that since the hose comes off the nose directly, pretty much, it always seems to get draped across my face or shoulder. I try to hang it from bedpost at home, I actually created a velcro loop over the bed in my travel trailer to try to reduce this issue. One of those things I keep playing with to try to find a better way to use.

This CPAP mask is also available at some CVS stores now, if you are 'on the road again' and need to replace. They carry a couple of styles at the CVS by me, not a great variety, but may be the best we can find in a pinch.

It is amazing how the nasal pillows can lose their bounce-back and need to be replaced so often. The CPAP store I listed actually sells just the pillows as well.

That sounds like the machine itself, not the headpiece.

I'm a mouth breather so I cannot use a nasal pillow.
The "full" facemask that I use is the Amara View from Philips Respironics.
It rests below my nose. If you read or watch tv before you go to sleep, this mask allows you to wear your glasses as it doesn't cover your nose.
Just another alternative.
Hope that this helps.

How many hours did it take before you were Macgiver ing up attempts at a substitute ?

Asking for a friend.
