Apple didn't get to a Trillion Dollar market cap by selling their stuff cheap.

Jobs understood the concept of price vs. perceived value.

"The more its costs, the more it's worth"

P.T. Barnum understood it well also.

What percentage are most people able to get from MSRP these days? Need to get a replacement tow vehicle but after looking think I will rebuild engine in my current Jeep.

Looking at something I can flat tow with 4x4 and little extra ground clearance.

Just bought a Ram 1500 for $22k. Sure it's a stripped down model work truck. But guess what? It pulls our 8K lbs 28' Grand Designs easy. 400 hp and 3.72 gears. Bought in FL, got home to TX and they were selling for $17k.
$80k for a pickup, Ya gotta be nuts!

Demand is high now and life is good if you are an auto dealer. Things will change....
And people wonder why no one thinks twice about dropping 50,000 -60,000 on a Tesla model 3. . Lots of money out there.

Speaking of Jeeps,
I didn't read ALL the responses to this thread but most of them. And, there was a thread on this same forum back a few months ago that was basically the same exact thread, only it pertained to the new Jeep Wranglers. And, even way back then, (approximately 6-9 months ago), a new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, four door with most of the bells and whistles you could get, was hovering in the $44,000 to $48,000 out the door. Now, with the '18s and even some '19s out, they've climbed to around $50,000-$55,000 out the door and more.

Regardless of who says what, those prices will NEVER GO DOWN. They're gonna sell them for those prices, AND THE FORD F-150s too, for those asking prices simply because they can get it. I just had two friends pick up two, brand new F-150 Lariats with almost all the bells and whistles of the Platinums, both for right at $58,000. It's gonna be a cold day in he.. for me to pay that much. My 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 Extended Cab with 45,000 miles on it, is gonna do just fine for a few more decades. Not to mention, it works flawless as a toad, no battery disconnecting, no hoops to jump through, no dead batteries, NOTHING.

Well, our '93 F150 pulled the hybrid trailer home we bought from a co-worker, but realized Old Green may not be happy pulling that thing in the mountains. Saw what newer trucks were going for and decided to trade in the trailer on a new motorhome...not much more than a new truck and all push buttons, all automated...DH loves that!
