We headed to the mountains for a week to tour around with the Jeep. We got a late start and were going to camp somewhere along the way the first night.
We were headed to Golden BC which is about a 6 hour trip from our place.
Didn't leave until 2ish and had a spot booked starting tonight but we were making good time and the place we thought we'd stay at was pretty busy so we just called the campground to see if we could get a spot which was no problem and we were going to get there by 9ish which they were fine with.
Well 10 mile from Golden there was a major accident and the road was closed for over 2 hours while they cleaned it up. So we didn't pull in until after 11 , the office was closed and our paperwork and map were hanging on the door. Instead of driving in to find the spot we walked it first to make sure we knew where it was and if there were any obstacles. Everything looked good and we drove right in left the Jeep hooked up, slides in and sleep on an angle so we wouldn't disturb the neighbors.
All good got up this morning and talked to one of the neighbors who didn't even know we pulled in until he got up this morning.
Then I disconnect the Jeep, hook up the power and water, level the M/H and put the slides out.
Happy that was done I decided to go and get Tim Hortons coffees for us while the girlfriend showers. Kinda got lost going and coming back but was alright since I got to see a bit of the town. When I get back I see water everywhere on the ground and immediately shut the water of at the tap. When I look the fresh water tank was bulging and overflowing even with the taps inside running for another 15 minutes. I guess I forgot to switch the valve for the tank fill to local supply. :( Needless to say we have a bit of a mess beside our M/H and I had to go tell the neighbor what happened so if it flowed into his spot he didn't think is was greywater coming from us. We both got a bit of a chuckle but it was a little embarrassing at the same time.
Sorry for the long post but I thought someone could get a chuckle out of it as well.
