The places I go have great turnover on diesel. They dont have 100 or 200K gallons of storage, but they always have fresh fuel.
The only folks I have met that had fuel filters clogging from algae (et al) had filled up at mom-and-pop stations in fringe locations. I simply choose wisely and do not pay premium prices out of fear.
Here in Benson, I filled up at Loves. The truck lanes were $3.79. The front pumps had a sign with an arrow that said "RV fueling" and lots of room, AND the diesel price was $3.62 there. That is $17 per 100 gallons at the same station!
