Your information is well received and appreciated. Especially by those like me who do use herbicides on a hobby level.
The only herbicide I use is a 41% Glyphosate such as "Round Up". That being said I do spray some 1 - 2 acre areas for deer food plots. I own 110 acres of land on the same side of the road my home sits on. I also have 90+ acres across the road where I have to travel 1/4 mile along the road to access the road to that property. On the tank of my ATV sprayer I have written on there 41% Glyphosate on each end. I also have the MSDS* booklet which comes taped to each 2 1/2 gallon of Gly. which is in a Zip Lock bag taped to the tank.
In the event I was involved in an accident the responders will be able to identify what the contents of the tank are and can take the proper precautions to deal with it. This is a law in our state and probably other states as well.
The responders also carry a chemical incident instruction booklet in each response vehicle which outlines how to deal with various chemicals. They also have the numbers for "Chemtrec":
https://www.chemtrec.com/training-drills Where they can call for further information about handling certain chemicals. Without the tank markings and the MSDS there could be a delay in treating an operator in the event of an accident as the responders have to look out for their safety and possibly have to call in a Hazmat team to clean up a chemical spill.
If someone was transporting a home brewed mixture there wouldn't be any data available to the responders unless the person who prepared the mixture listed all the ingredients on the tank or somewhere the information was readily available and visible.
This may be more information than those casual small amount of herbicide users need but I felt it was worth the time to point these facts out.
