Do You pre-trip?

Coming home from a week-end outing, we ran across this scene 3 miles from our house. It appears the slide was left out, this driveway is a private residence. There was no sign of the RV, the better half ran into town 2 hours after the pictures and nothing was moved.
It leads me to believe they won't discover the missing slider till after they pull into the campground.

I walk around the coach three times before pulling out. Twice if only stopping for fuel or leg strectching.

Once around clockwise, then once again the other way, then DW asks me a question, I end up going around 2 more times. Me,no, I don’t need a pre trip check, I got a DW check.

I don't see how anyone would not see that a slide was out before moving. I guess some just never looks back.

I do a walk around every time.

Then my wife does one too and stands next to the toad making sure all 4 wheels are turning on the toad as I pull forward slowly. Don't ask why.

Surely they would have felt the impact? Maybe not the noise.
Yes we do a circle check. A hands and knee look under as well as a peek at the top. Lights, turn signals etc. Brake check. Pin and pin lock. Break away cable. Also a ground search for forgotten items.

I walk around twice. First time looking at door locks and things under the trailer like stabilizers and drain caps. Second time around its high up things like awning straps and roof vents.

One time my initial walkaround was interrupted and I didn't complete it for a while. I ended up pulling out of a parking spot with the awning out.

I now do triple checks.

Short story. We were having some work done with the slide out. Work was finished after dark and we were in a hurry to get back to the campground. I took off down the street and then looked in the mirror and was wondering what those stripes were. Finally dawned on me that they were the stripes on the slide out. I had driven about half a block with the slide out. I was lucky

A total walkaround is the last thing I do before getting in the MH and pulling out. I failed to do that once and shredded the 50A power cord under the toad wheels! VERY expensive mistake!
