Mike, are you asking this as it may come up as a part of his upcoming run for the Republican 2008 Presidential nomination? I am not really sure of what you are getting at?

Glenn I believe you know what Mr. Thompson is talking about.

At some point we as Americans are going to have to face the music and straiten out our Government.

" When people fear government there is tyranny. When government fears the people there is liberty."
--- John Adams

"When the government is no longer able to secure our rights, it's time to change that government."(The PATRIOT'S act)
~Thomas Jefferson~

"Whenever the people are well informed, they can be trusted with there
Own government; that whenever things get so far wrong as to attract
Their notice, they may be relied on to set them to rights."
--Thomas Jefferson

He who dares not to offend cannot be honest.
-- Thomas Paine

One can only hope the "Fred Heads" prevail.

I try to remain positive about our situation...man I want to be able to enjoy the fruits of my labors and really enjoy the RV lifestyle. That said, I do wonder if our way of life and our traditions aren't circling the drain. Our country isn't perfect but I believe it is still the best place in the world to live...heck, if that wasn't true, why are so many illegal's always trying to come here?

Sadly, I'm not sure enough people care or are tuned-in to what is really going on. While I believe in the basic goodness of the American people, too many folks seem to be ignorant of history and too willing to let 'government' do for them. Lack of personal accountibility and responsibility, coupled with apathy, seem commonplace.

A former U.S. Marine who works for me believes we will need another 9-11 attack for many people to wake up and fully understand the threat/s we face. Even then, many will still believe we've brought it on ourselves and America is the 'evil empire.'

I do wonder where the real leaders are...those who will do the right thing and uphold the values and traditions many of us hold dear.

Many good people don't run for office because of all the abuse, insults, innuendos, personal attacks, and accusations from the press and opponents.

It takes a strong person to be able to withstand the intense heat in todays climate.

Our forefathers didn't seem to mind the heat when the right thing needed to be done, but they weren't hung up on political correctness.

It's time for the old military adage:

"Lead, follow, or get out the way."

Until we curb special interests and pork barrel politics, we are destined to stay our current course.

This Unity 08 is suppose to be a nonpartisan group trying to take back the United States.

Would some of you smarter people let me know if they're for real or just another Hollywood commie outfit?

How many fly the flag everyday? How many respect others? How many help out in their communities? HOW MANY VOTE? I agree with smlranger, it should not be to easy to not work. I do not think it would be demeaning to pick up trash along the road if one is receieving assistance. There are people who would like to wipe every American off the face of this earth. Political correctness is destroying us.
