That's worse than when our pontoon boat was hit at the boat ramp with a dog driven golf cart

I think you nailed it! I just went out to my 2008 Bounder and verified what you posted. Key on, foot on brake, then pull shift lever toward me then shift.

It's amazing they had camera's going from two different directions at the time of the happening to do their video with. That would raise some questions.

I think its a Safari Simba. If so, it's on a Freightliner FrED, which would have a pushbutton shifter, right?

Yes, and notice the brake lights are on while he walking back to the rear of the coach ( who or what is pushing on that brake pedal?). After the backup lights come on and after it starts rolling the brake lights GO OUT.

OMG!
Yeah right? Ya think. The dog eats your home work, runs the car thru the convenience store window, drives the MH into the lake....blah, blah, blah.
Looks like that MH owner had even more toys on the roof. Like maybe a Kayak?
Just another reason why the wife and I say "NO MORE TOYS", "NO MORE TOYS". We're done with all this stuff already.
Oh and BTW..."He who dies with the most toys DOESN'T WIN". (inside secret)
You could be next...On Candid Camera!

Another smooth move by an RV'er. I watched a 40' diesel pusher go into Canyon Late, Arizona (just short of Tortilla Flat) a few years ago while launching a boat. Right up to the window ledges and it was there for a few hours awaiting the tow truck. Rig looked to be just a couple of years old, but no worries.... The boat was floating just fine still tethered to the trailer.
You only have to make one mistake, whereas EVERYTHING has to go right EVERY time to get away with this trick. Are ya' feelin' lucky???

Ya I think. The rig was a front engine diesel with a electronic Allison transmission. The transmission keypad is on the driver's left side armrest. The dog stepped on the keypad and the rest is history.

I was saying that tongue and cheek. You know....ha, ha. funny, funny, take a happy pill, that kinda of stuff!
But since you brought this up and posted this accurate, scientific, circled illustrated image that clearly shows deep indented push buttons on that transmission keypad, buttons that look to be at least 4.7625mm deep, how could a canines paw pad—penetrate and push—the specific button, to activate and transfer this MH in reverse, and in doing so, also engaging earth's gravitational pull and let's not forget, also releasing the parking brake (assuming it was engaged as proper protocol calls for), to plunge this unfortunates soul's recreational vehicle into this large body of H2O? Please furnish charts, graphs and other supporting data to support your claim.
Oh BTW...I speak Fluent Sarcasm.

This is why I never taught the dogs to launch the boat. Coordination between the one steering and the one breaking was just too tough. Adding the one looking back and barking out orders was out of the question. Besides, as soon as the one started in barking orders the other 2 just wanted to argue!

I still don't understand why the brake lights are on in the beginning. And why they would be off later on in the video. I can maybe see the dog shifting the transmission, but as discussed, the parking brake must have been set or it would have rolled back when he put it in neutral. Strange for sure.

reminds me when I was little my dad was launching the boat in a mid 70's F100 standard transmission with the e-brake on. dad was in the boat and mom was supposed to be in the truck holding the brake and pulling out. well the truck e-brake let loose and started going deeper into the ramp, while mom was on the dock dad got the boat started and put into gear to hold the truck from going into the water. he got out of the boat and got into the truck and pulled it up out of the water where it was safe. lol. thank goodness the boat started right up and being a jet drive didn't have to worry about the prop. he still reminds my mom of this to this day
Note: when I back my boat down to the ramp, the wife IS in the seat
