I've launched my bass boat many times solo. I'd back down to proper depth, shift to park, turn off engine, set parking brake and chock driver front wheel while I climbed onboard to get the boat off the trailer and tied up. Then go get my truck. I chose locations/times that did not impact other boaters. If doing a team launch, one person always stayed in the driver's seat- end of story.

Some people get in a hurry and take too many shortcuts.

Do you do this everytime that you launch your boat?

Excellent point about bleeding the air! Thanks!

You might if you had a dog that jumps around in the cockpit area. I dont do it at all, but it I thought there was a threat of someone or something hitting my air knob, I certainly would. Lots of air brake equipped rvs, dump the air or loose air when the jacks get deployed. Bottom line, no air, no way for brakes to release. With the engine off, it only takes a handful of pumps on the brakes to bleed them down.

I hope you have Farmers Insurance. They have seen It all. Lol. That could happen to ours very easily. You have to leave it in neutral and set the parking brake. It is on the floor and if bumped it would roll away. I feel so bad for you all.

That dog was not thinking about shifting, he is clearly thinking "I'm gonna drown if I can't get this window open"

No Dogs Allowed in the Front Seat!

Here's an interesting question...Do you let your medium to large sized dog sit in the drivers seat of your RV while it's running?

If so, you might want to reconsider.

Check this out: (You can skip to 00:40 of the video to watch the backup lights come on)

I have never seen a dog who could apply the brakes, then shift into reverse. My guess is this is a staged blooper to get advertising. The whole side of the rv is one big ad. Considering how many switches there are in an rv cockpit, it probably isn't a good idea to allow dogs on the drivers seat. My dogs are never allowed on seats or furniture, or beds.

I'm surprised the dog wasn't in the boat when it was being launched. Ours is the first to jump in when we get ready to leave the dock.

I don't have a problem with the pup jumping into the front seat. My young daughter sometimes does the same. Thing is, you can bet the engine is shut down and the keys removed from the ignition when they do.

Do feel for the guy though,,

If that had been a diesel pusher it would not have ended so good.
