Thanks for posting that... It's a real shame they don't teach History in school anymore... People so caught up in their 'smart phones', computers, fancy cars,, etc,,, forget or never know what it took to get here.... Nor do they care ...

That's right, and just think, It's taken us only around 70 years to get from the Greatest Generation, to where I'd term the dumbest generation.

Thank you to all who have served and sacrificed for all of us.
As to the earlier comment I read in this thread about going from the greatest to the dumbest in 70 years. I can only say I still see young men and women coming home everyday wounded in the sacrifice to protect this great nation and all of us at home.

Semper Fi and support the wounded warrior project.

My dad, Robert Sr., was a "Hump Flyer" in WWII (he flew combat cargo through, not over, the Himalayas in his little C47, the "Edwenia", named for my mother). Doolittle and his men were true American heros. These men are to be cherished, revered and remembered.

I had the great honor of escorting Richard Cole, Jimmy Doolittle's co pilot, at EAA's Air Venture in Oshkosh. What a humble, charming man he is. He gave several presentations, signed countless books, posters, airplanes, etc. All of this was very tiring for him, but I never heard a single complaint. An amazing man.
