Is it possible the temperature of the next room would extend the "Event Boundary" probably a couple of feet?
This would explain why sometimes I open the refrigerator and forget why the *%$#* I opened it. As soon as the door is closed all is normal again(so far) that would mean the wipe was only temporary.
It could also explain why our kids just open the refrigerator and stand there with a blank stare.

Yep. I count myself amongst the folks who
"open the refrigerator and stand there with a blank stare." Just before dinner time.

I wonder how many times my mother yelled, "CLOSE that refrigerator door!" to us kids. She would further explain that nothing new was going to magically appear in there if we held the door open.

The odourfous evidence usually reminds me of why I'm in the bathroom, way too often.

Solution: Leave all doors closed. When you it will knock you back into reality or jar your memory. Try it. It really works.

The official term is Destinesia. When arriving at your destination, you get amnesia. So, next time when you return to your stating point, feel free to declare you have Destinesia.
This is an old Saturday Night Show sniglet.
