Smile Eagle Cam

My daughter Alyssa came home from 3rd grade yesterday and was excited to show me the Eagle Cam that they had been watching in school. For the last couple days, they've been watching a pair of bald eagles care for their 3 young eaglets.

Check out the live video from the nest in Norfolk VA

You can double click the video picture for a full screen view

It's so cool watching them

That's really cool. I put it up at a pickup forum I frequent.

Birds of prey are just neat, especially bald eagles. Over the past few years here they seem to have gone from rare to see, to being pretty common.

That is really Kool.
Thanks for sharing. I've sent the link to my wife's computer in her 2nd grade classroom and I'm sure the kids will be thrilled to see a Bald Eagle up close. Have also sent to some of my tree hugger friends....and am sure they will like it too.
Thanks again....

Joe please let Alyssa know that because of her my grandson's 1st grade class in NH will be able to enjoy this site as they begin a study about birds.

We've been checking out the Eagles every evening at home as we too like watching them grow.

Alyssa has gotten a thrill out of seeing your comments.

Eagerly trying to access this site but shows a plugin to be downloaded first and it won't download. We have many eagles wintering around our lakes here in Oklahoma and a couple nesting here also.

I have watched these babes for a bit now...but I had no idea of their size until I watched the "Banding" video that is to the right.

I would suggest everyone watch that video...these cute lttle babies are bigger than my dog!!!

I am still amused and amazed at the birds...last week I watched as they removed one from the nest to put a tracking device on her. This week at least one of them is starting to try and practice with his wing flapping and trying slight little flights across the nest. (OK...so it is more like hops across the nest. ) I would suggest watching the tracking device video ...and pay attention to the size of the nest when you see the man in it. That nest is not small!!

I, too, have loved watching these eaglets grow & become independent. They are truely beautiful & majestic birds!

Alyssa, for sharing this link with us. Very educational & awe-inspiring to be sure.
