Electric bikes

Hi everyone. My hubby and I are planning a trip to Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon, mesa Verde and Chaco canyon in Sept. we are talking about buying electric bikes so we can bike around instead of driving the truck. Do any of you have an electric bike? What brand? Do you like them?
We have a Piaggio scooter that we took to yellowstone and South Dakota a couple of years ago. We had a mount made for the back of our travel trailer but apparently that is very dangerous to tow that way. We are looking to get a toy hauler later in the year or the first part of 2023. For now maybe the electric bikes will be a good choice.
Thanks!

They are still super expensive right now which makes them a theft target so be sure to get heavy duty locks and cables for whichever brand you buy. I'm still holding off buying one until I find a nice used one, or the prices come down. Until then I have a nice bike with dual shock absorbers and a cushy seat. Like this one: Hyper Shock

I both lock it up and remove the seat to prevent theft. I've had someone cut my cable and ride off with my bike (when I didn't remove the seat) when there were two even nicer unlocked bikes right across the RV park drive once. In a 'resort' in a nice part of town too. Grrr.

I don't think you will permitted to use them in Zion. All access to the main part of the park is by shuttle bus only. I also doubt they will be of much use at Bryce. Both Bryce and Zion have free shuttles which are very convenient and really are the best way to get around the park.

We have the Lectric. They have been great. Easy to transport being they fold. I have over 1,000 trouble free miles on mine. https://lectricebikes.com/

Unfortunately, this is incorrect. Zion and all other parks allow eBikes (level 2 or below) in all areas that allow bicycles and as a reference, Zion does allow the use of bicycles and hiking throughout the park

The NPS made a ruling allowing e-bikes in national parks a little over a year ago now......however this was true previously

We have two lectric folding bikes and they fit in our basement of our motorhome. You can only buy them online for about $900. They are heavy, about 60 lbs.

We also have 2 Lectric step-through bikes. This is our second set, we sold the originals to friends after a couple of years when the new 2.0 version came out and got 2 of those.

Just returned from 30 days on the road and ours folded and fit nicely in the back of our Grand Cherokee toad. We love having them to run around on while camped for short runs.

Call a head of Zion.. big flood last month. They cancelled our room we had .. not sure if they are fixed or still doing repairs. We try to make it every memorial weekend and labor weekend.. depending if they are still tore up or not.

We ride through the walk through entrance and show the pass.. race up to the lodge and past to the river.. I bring our electric bikes and my 3wheel scooter ... don’t have any problems .. just be courteous to the others.. a bell to ring helps warn them you are coming.

Have fun. Great place..

If it’s crowded.. head in early or late or you might get stuck in the line to get in.. they don’t separate pass holders from the ones they have to pay to get in. ..

We bough two new electric bikes. Both broke in six months and company is now out of business. No way to obtain parts. Find a company that's been in business and hopefully will stay that way.

We also bought two of the foldable, step-thru Lectrics ($899 ea with free shipping) and are happy with them. Only complaints: the original seat and post were not that great so we bought suspension posts and a wider seat for me and a noseless seat for my wife; the 1.0 version did not come with a suspension front fork and you really need that if riding much off road. No worries now though because the 2.0 version ($999) has a suspension fork!

We have two ebikes. I have a step through, folding fat tire Addmotor and DW has a folding LibertyTrike. Both, when folded, fit in the bed of our Toad with room for the ramps I use to load and unload them, a folded up 10x12 screen tent and, DW’s walker.
