Filing Taxes

I did it. I just filed my Federal and State income taxes for 2022! This is the earliest I have ever filed and it feels good to get it over with. I just wish I could find a way to drastically reduce the taxes I pay! Oh well, I guess that is the price some of us pay to live in such a great country.

Oddly enough, we did ours already, too. I usually procrastinate until the last possible minute but we got the last of our forms in the mail yesterday and decided to bite the bullet and get it done.

I still don't have all the required forms. If I have a refund coming, I'll file ASAP, if I owe, then I'll file at the last minute...

I filed on the 24th. I went online and downloaded the forms that I hadn't received in the mail.

I forgot to add that I use Turbo Tax. What do y'all use?

Our state tax forms are harder to fill out than the Federal ones were!

Waiting on the ratt-sheets from the brokerage firm to get the paperwork online. Man, I hate paying so much since I am retired and not earning anything now. But that is the price you pay for having some money and not being broke.

Use Turbo Tax also
Easy/peasy

File only so I can get the $25 good citizen payment from State

Otherwise I wouldn't even bother filing as I pay no taxes, owe no taxes, get any tax refunds

Love being retired and 2 nickels in my pocket to rub together

As a follow up to my previous post, I filed my return using Turbo Tax, on 1/24 around 10:45 PM . The return was accepted at 11 PM by the IRS. The refund was in my checking account this morning.

I've been using Tax Act for the last dozen years. A friend worked for their parent company, supporting the tax products used by CPAs.

No complaints with the software.

I use Tax Act, probably since it's been out. Haven't filed yet since I'm waiting on one tax form that will be ready later this month.
The thing that I hate most is paying tax on Social Security income just because I have investment income.
Thanks,

As an edit there is no reason that I use Tax Act other than it is the electronic program that I started with and I don't like change. Don't know if it's good, bad or ugly.
