For the ladies

I was wondering what the ladies on the road do when you need a spa day. Manicure pedicure and hair either cut, colored or just styled. I was thinking when we go FT I might need to give up my pamper days.. I hope I'm not sounding stuck up or sounding prissy I just like being pretty for DH.

Thank you
Shaz

I would suggest your not going to Mars! Every town has amenities for the girls...

My DW has done her days in California, Maryland and South Carolina and the key for her is to enjoy the day, and not expect the results to the same as she gates at her usual back home. In California they tweaked her hair style and it was a huge hit for both of us!!!!!

Both Thom and I enjoy having spa days. It is not just the ladies that "make themselves pretty". Because of the very low humidity out here in SoCal Thom has several fingernails that split from the tip to the bottom of the nail if not taken care of. To really make sure it doesn't split too far and cause bleeding and stuff he has does the gels and not regular nail stuff. I would rather see a guy take care of himself and make himself "look pretty" then to just let things "go wild".
Did I mention that Thom also does stage combat, cleans the bathroom, does dishes, was in a band, does stage plays, cooks, works on robotic vehicles .....
I will take a "manscaped" guy any day over one who doesn't take care of their body.

I am male and enjoy massages everywhere I travel FT as well as haircuts. The DW gets her hair done everywhere. I just had the best haircut in a small town, 2 chair shop. It's a big change traveling FT. I have more trouble getting a good meal in an American style restaurant.

Gentlemen, please accept my apologies if I have offered you directing my question to the ladies. I am happy to know you guys enjoy pampering too. My main concern was getting nails done every 2 \3 weeks with acrylic fills and pedicures every so often. My dreams have drifted to the spas I have been reading about with hot springs, mud baths, sauna, hot tub and massages. I think DH (Bob) might enjoy it too. Again thank you for you in put too.
Cheers
Shaz

You might find a little more trouble with getting the kind of nails you want as small towns seem to not have quite the variety of types of nail amenities... Surely you will go through larger towns where you can stop and call around to find the sort of nails and the fills to go with them.

Power of the internet! When we are away from home for longer than 2 weeks I use Yelp to look up nail salons. A # of them will have reviews. Yelp will definitely give you an idea of what is nearby. You can look at yelp on your computer or on an app on your phone. As always, with the reviews, read & make your opinion on what is said. If you can, drive by the place & look it over. Will you be comfortable there?
Most nail salons these days are ready for any nail service. I have a friend who did run in to an issue with language. She was wanting gel & the gentleman at the salon thought she wanted acrylic nails put on. So, make sure that the service you want is understood by the staff.
I visited one salon in FL & was very happy. I asked for some cards to take back to the rv park & I was given $5 off my treatment plus some cards to share with $5 off for others!
As for haircuts, I wanted to get my hair cut & did not want to wait til I got home. I asked a local whose hair looked good who did they go to? Got the name & # & got a haircut!
Enjoy the travel! Keep track of your salons so you're ready next time you're through the area! And let us know how it goes!
If anyone is interested, I've used nail salons in ABQ, Atlantic Beach, FL, Honolulu (no RV, visiting son in AF), Jasper, IN & NE GA.

3cststravel, thanks for all the great ideas! Since I am in NM I use 2 places here.1 in Abq and 1 in SF. I travel to San Antonio and found a wonderful place right near my daughters place. I do know I will need to find a place in Phx, cave creek area, son lives there. I will def check out yelp. I am very picky about the nails. I watch like a hawk. Have also gotten nasty infections from one place I was going to in Edgewood NM. Thank you everyone..please keep the ideas coming.
