We have disconnected our land line phones and put them away. The land line now is used only for Dish TV (renting movies) and our fax machine. If anyone calls they get the fax machine nothing else. Since we bundle the internet and land line phone we had to keep the phone line in order to keep our cost down.

My wife commented the other day how peaceful it has been with no phones ring in the house.

Thanks for the scam info. I use Tru Caller app on my phone. If a number is not in my contacts it goes to voice mail. Then I review the calls and have an option of tagging the call as scam and blocking it so next time they call it does not even go to voice mail.

So many scams,so little time to hear them all, so I don't give any info on telephone,or Internet other than what they get when they trace my routings and we know how that goes....yet there are many suckers out there who will give the info they want and make great profits. It has to be profitable or they wouldn't have so many scams out there for us to fall on.

I get several calls on my cell every day that show local numbers, but are not recognized by my phone. I answer every one saying (local police dept. name) and then Lieutenant Jones.

I have only had one guy studder that he was trying to reach his wife and don’t know how he reached us, he then hung up. All others, I just hear a click !

But the more you answer these calls, the more they will call you. Your number goes on a list of "live ones" that gets sold over the internet.
I have better things to do than to answer junk phone calls. If they don't leave a message, I don't sweat it.
