Second, for those who do not keep up with medical technology, these type of "robots" have been around for many years. The are not "autonomous" robots, but a robot that receives it "movement" directions directly for hand/finger movement the surgeon makes. The movement of the hand is lessened by many time so an inch of hand movement may result in only 1/10th or less moment of the robots hand/fingers.

And there is at least 1 camera in there so the surgeon can see what is going on.

Very commonly used in prostate removal surgery.

Well I made it! The 3-hour surgery & recovery went well Thursday morning. He removed about a 6-inch section of the colon where the polyp kept coming back.

The pain has been pretty bad, especially when I have to get in and out of bed! I think the Doc dumped a 5-gallon bucket of razor blades in there! Today is the first day I have been able to get up and down without help. Still not fun, but I can "grin & bear it".

I was dismissed from the hospital about noon today and
my Ashley recliner in the MH never looked so good! We will be staying in Birmingham until next weekend, just to be sure all is well on the south forty!

Thanks again to all of you who were rooting for me! God is good!

I am glad it went well, do you have pillow to hold against your stomach when you try to stand up?

Glad to hear all went well. As hard as it is, make sure you get up and walk periodically so you don't get any blood clots in your legs and so you keep the blood flow going to the colon incision.

We got back home today and all is well. I'm pretty weak and am not allowed to do much of anything, even drive, until I go back for a checkup on July 11th. This sitting around doing nothing is driving me crazy!

Our son went to Birmingham this morning and drove the MH back home for us. He had only driven it one time before, just for a few minutes here locally. He did really well and I am very proud of him! Luckily the interstate traffic was light on Sunday morning so that helped.

Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts and prayers!

We hoping and praying everything came out alright, I just went through the same thing but mine was cancerous, we opted for the general surgery to make sure that there was none left, I'm recuperating and healing fast! They took out 1.5 feet and now I'm cancer free! I urge everyone 50 and over to make sure that you get your Colonoscopy ASAP!
