Good Glue For Boat Shoes

Hi, i have some what i call boat shoes but they are just shoes made for the water that i got at walmart about 15 years ago. They drain well and they keep your feet from getting too soggy.

They are fine other than the soles fell off. I tried some gorilla glue but it didnt last long i guess because of the water and its water activated.

Anyway they dont cost much prob less than 10 bucks so i dont want to spend more than that to fix them. What kind of glue can i use to put the soles back on them so they dont fall off in the water?

The only kind of places around here are auto parts stores, a dollar general and a grocery store. The nearest walmart is 40 miles away.

See pic...

You need an adhesive that is both water proof, and flexible. Try silicone calk.

Silicone caulk is a very poor adhesive...and once you put that on nothing will stick to it...not even more silicone

Thanks by tomorrow ill know if the construction stuff works cause im going fishing and wading in water.

hey rgvtexan, quick question... i guess the only place in texas where its pretty and green and no gators is probably lake arrowhead up by wichita falls right. Texas is reverse of New Mexico. In NM the south is desert and baron and the north is green and pretty. In Texas its the reverse lol.. I think the gators come into play right above dallas someplace on a horrizontal grid.

You're partly right. Once cured, nothing else will stick to it, but it is a very good adhesive.

In an emergency, I used it to re=attach a sole to a hiking boot. It stayed in place for about 50 miles of hiking, until I replaced the boots.

Thanks ill have to get some shoe goo next time i find a walgreens the closest one is about 50 miles away. You know thats what i find strange so far about texas. In NM if there is a walmart or any other pharmacy then there is a walgreens. Im waiting for them to open a walgreens across the street from another walgreens we have so many lol. Heck look at Edgewood NM population squat lol.. and it has a walgreens, walmart, sonic, two dollar stores and three auto parts stores and a farm store all in a town of squat.

But in texas its not like that, with the exception of OReilly auto parts, you seem to only find big company names in the biger cities. Its the same with banks too, not a wells fargo anywhere near here, not even close. They dont even have a wells fargo bank in a city that has a walmart. So i guess the next time take a long drive ill end up going to wellsfargo, walmart and walgreens all in one day lol... an all day venture.

Sorry ok rant done lol.
