Helping hand
Just had a pleasant visit with my younger sister and her husband. She has had stage three cancer and is now recovering from the operation. Avid RVers all their lives, and have traveled through the US. They sold their 34 5th wheel and settled into that sitting at home thing. He's a TT driver and works hard. Well as many know all does not go as planned in such a situation, having almost lost her several weeks ago due to treatments after the surgery in which she had a complete body shutdown, things did not go well 92 pounds and falling. treatments stopped and now gaining weight. In conversation yesterday I found out that if a return happens it is fatal in all cases. Not good news. I offered my coach to them for as long as they want and I think it's in consideration at least for the summer. My travel will not be happening, but to see the smiles on their faces when I insisted, was worth more than any sights I could have seen. I believe that it was the best thing I could have said to them. My time at home with my wife will be treasured and their time traveling together again will be as well. If I could afford it I'd give them the coach and buy what I'd like, and travel together. In any case enjoy your travel together you just don't know what's around the corner. Treasure what you have and enjoy the lifestyle. I'm on hold, but I'm a happy man, sorry for the long post.

Thanks for the replies. It just seemed like the right thing to do, and the feeling afterwards rewarding. I'll never regret it.

Bruce - you are a nice man! I want to give you a link to a website to share with your sister and BIL. There is a lot of cancer in my family on my mom's side, and we have lost several close family members [incl. my own mother last year] to traditional treatments, that did not help or only temporarily and weakened the body to the point that the treatment did equally much damage as the actual cancer itself.
I have just been diagnosed myself this summer, and am adamant of going the natural route with this. I am astounded about how many folks with cancer don't know that there are alternative ways that work and also can help overcome the ravages and damages of chemo and radiation or provide additional support to traditional treatments.
A great way to start some research is: Alternative Cancer Treatments (Mother Nature Knows Best)
Please share this with your sister and her family. Thank you! I am just starting on this journey myself, but will gladly answer any questions if I can.

Just started chemo yesterday and yes I too have lost family members who have taken treatment, but personally knew more family and friends who tried the 'natural' route and lost out. My own wife tried the chemo and lost but hers was a 'long shot'. A sister-in-law went natural with a cancer that is normally 99 percent treatable with chemo and lost out too. Of 5 people I have personally known, only one survived going the personal route and she could afford to go abroad on a retreat centre for five months to rest and drink herbal teas etc, I think you have to do what you feel most strongly about and will be comfortable with the outcome.
