They say that sleep apnea causes a lot of problems. Don't know about that but it was sure keeping her awake!
Some folks have a really hard time getting used to the mask. I had that problem at first using the type that covers the nose and mouth. I'm a side sleeper and it kept getting out of place and leaking air. I discovered the pillow-type mask and it's been wonderful ever since!

Untreated it can cause some serious long-term health issues including high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes along with some heart-related problems such as irregular beats and heart attack. Depression is another potential affect along with headaches. What drove me to get tested was getting up every day knowing I'd slept 8 hours but feeling like I had been up all night. It also affected my mood and there was a chronic irritability that didn't exist before (I hope that's true and not the DW just being polite... ). I also began having bouts of sleep paralysis. It was amazing how quickly those symptoms went away after I got my machine and started using it regularly.
