How much do you owe

I took the time to do some fictional calculations had I and my few employers been allowed to NOT contribute to SS and instead used MY good sense to invest it.

Anyway I got sidetracked slightly and found this interesting, for me anyway, DEBT CLOCK. It's very comprehensive and even includes other countries such as well run CANADA in which I own 10 acres to run to just in case.

Maybe you've seen it before but I hadn't. This is the link:
http://www.usdebtclock.org/index.html

P.S. My fictional calculations would make anyone angry.

THIS is why I can't watch the news. I vote and do my patriotic duty, but the everyday BS will put me in the nut house.

I worked for ''the other man'' for years and tried every way to ''opt out'' of SSI without any success. I said hang it all and went into business for myself and retired at 55 after being a business man for 20 years. For a long time I used the SSI checks to pay my taxes. I never depended on SS for retirement. My college was 4 years U.S. Navy and the ''School of hard knocks''.......

Aint life grand ......

God bless our troops and keep them safe.

We are debt free except for the three mortgages that we have and rental income covers all but our primary residence. I have never paid Social Security as our company voted it out in 79' Instead we get a retirement from the company that they put into. If we can't pay cash for it we don't need it or have not earned it. And while everyone around us is losing their house so they could keep up with the Jones' with their Hummers and new RV's we found a great used one that we saved for. Cannot be a slave to debt.
