We go a couple of times a month for 4 or 5 days winter and summer. My wife has now retired, so we plan at least a month-long trip every year as well.

Our '14 5er, bought the end of August that year has been used quite a bit with the last two years being 82 and 84 nights. Any RV usually gets a spring shakedown after a winter's nap trip then gets parked on a seasonal site along Lake Champlain from the last week in May through about August 15th then gets hauled out for our 'annual' 5-6 week trip then back to the seasonal site for the closing on Columbus Day Weekend. We don't try to fight for reservations and crowds over much of the summer. Then it's home and time to do the neglected S&B maintenance. The 5er has about 20,000 miles on it with another 7-8000 planned for this year's trip.

we have had Class Cs since 1988. a few Trailers in the 90s.and 2000s.now a too big diesal pusher..we usually go to the same lake about 3 weeks every summer..stopped traveling to BC from Alberta due to me working seasonal now sandblasting and painting..when i had my own towing business and auto repair shop. i would just close down and go. but now we seem to have more family coming to visit than ever before, the motorhome is a guest house. have gone thru 4 tanks of propane since Dec .better than having it sit there frozen.

We had 3 active years with our 32' Class A and put just over 6000 miles on it, all in Washington and Oregon. The last year, gas had climbed to $4.50/gal, so it was used that season as a guest house. It was our 50th wedding anniversary in August that year and we had a lot of visitors.

After things had calmed down, we took a serious review of our RV life and decided the cost wasn't worth it, as we were tapping an IRA for almost every trip. We sold it on consignment with a local dealer - BIG mistake.

We enjoyed the lifestyle but not the cost of it.

We bought our Isata 3 last June and since then have used it for a bit over 7 months. We currently are on a schedule of two 3 to 3 and 1/2 month trips twice a year. The rest of the time we relax in the Caribbean.

We usually have somewhere between 30 and 40 nights per season. Often it is our kid's sports that prevent additional outings, but it's a balance and we try to enjoy it all.
