HOW MUCH water should I drink per day...??

I have read more than once, lately....... that you take your weight in pounds and convert to ounces after dividing by 1/2.

OK, I'm 160 lbs and that means 80 ounces/day. Or 2-1/2 Quarts.

I fill my insulated thermos each day and it holds 32 ounces or 1 Quart. I can use this up, winter or summer.....but rarely more than that.

What is the usage out there, please.......?

Isn't this a question for your doctor rather than on an RV forum. All people are different. Activity levels, climate, etc all change things.

My Doc says liquid is liquid as long as it is not alcohol. That being said, I drink 48 to 60 ounces of liquid a day. Not enough I know.

My Dr. told me 6 12oz glasses a day, more may require a magnesium suppliment. She had me have blood tests after a week of that 6 glass recommendation to see where my mineral levels were. My calcium is low, everything else is OK. She told me to chew 2 Tums every evening before bed to increase calcium level.

How much water? Maybe one glass a day. (8 ounces)

Hasn't killed me yet. Everybody is different. I get my fluids other ways. Milk, tea, beer, wine or scotch (but only 1-2 oz. of scotch at a time!)

My wife is a OR RN, and says I should drink more water, but why change what's worked for me for 67 years.

My Father inlaw was asked once, "Do you ever drink water?" He said, " Of course, in the summertime!" He lives on diet coke.

Use one of these formulas for mixed results.

4-6 times your daily whiskey consumption.
The same amount as your daily wine consumption.
Half of your daily beer consumption.

I used to tell patients that if our urine is not clear to light yellow or if you can "smell" your urine you need more water.

From the neighbors garden hose, public water fountain, glacial stream, white label generic commercially sourced plastic bottle, from my kitchen sink via a whole house softener as delivered by the city, where ever the camp ground gets it's water, from,,,

If you wait until youíre thirsty, youíre already dehydrated.

As we age, many people become unable to develop a sense of thirst that would be an indication of dehydration.

My water consumption varies by the weather, my physical activities, and type and amount of food I have consumed among other things. I consider all liquid intake as water. More water and beer is consumed on a hot July lawn mowing day than on a nice spring day in April doing nothing. In answer to OP’s question, average consumption of all liquids per day for me is probably around one quart.
