I just gotta vent

6 days of travel, and now parked at the San Mateo convention center for a show this weekend, and the back of this place is a total dump. It's a cruddy parking lot with construction, a freeway, forklifts, noise, and guess what else... They have grass... On the convention center side only and posted no dogs, but just on my side of the fence, an area that could easily be grass, is just dead dirt ... And I got me two dogs that love to poo on grass and I'm here for 5 days

That's what's nice about having an RV....If one doesn't like where they're parked, they can move to somewhere nicer.

Exactly;and to think that they all came out west in covered wagons.

Some don't like dog poo. Likely a result of poo not picked up properly.

bad thing is there aren't really any parks very nearby and it seems silly to move for only 2 days to have to come right back, plus navigating any further north in san fran looks hairy to me. I think it best just to sit still, and suck it up. (and sneak some grass time in at night) Personally, I ALWAYS pick up my dog poo, and I strongly dislike it when I encounter someone else's dog poo. But on the flip side, maybe they didn't see Lasso sneak one out behind their back.

go to home depo, get a potting tray and a strip of sod grass that you can get to fit into the potting tray and make a portable pooping station you can carry with you for your dogs! Make it a size you can stow in a bay easily when on the road... don't forget to water it and leave it in the sun when you are parked. (Although, dogs will go on dead grass or dormant grass also... and it is easy enough to replace frequently...)

And don't forget to purchase a lawn mower to keep it well groomed.

Evidently the guy that cuts the grass doesn't like dog poo much either, (and he probably doesn't care that your dogs "love to poo on grass").

IMO, the only respectful thing to do is follow the posted rules....
besides, my dogs poo only where I let them poo.
I could be wrong, but my dogs seem to love dead dirt as much as grass... (but not nearly as much as licking their privates, smelling another dog's butt, or sticking their nose in someones crotch)!

BTW, a friend of mine house trained his puppy while the ground was covered with snow, but after the last patch of snow disappeared, the dog didn't "hold it" until the next winter.

Does the Convention center actually have a campground, or is it part of their parking lot that they are letting you park in? It's hard to justify your complaints if it's just a parking lot...

Why not go to COSTCO or carpet store and get some quality thick pile artificial turf/grass. My dog loves to lay on it and poo on it too in lieu of rock, asphault and dirt.

Just venting at what a pain in the rear it was to walk the dogs. Not so much complaining per se.

But in all honesty, it wouldn't be hard for them to grow gross another 3 feet, to the "RV parking side" of the fence too.

Along the edge of the parking lot, right up next to the adjoining fence into the actual convention center, back in the far back corner of their big lot, there is a 3 foot strip of dirt on the rv side of the fence where all of the electric, sewer and water is, and they have about 30 back in spots.

So they grow grass on their side of the fence, right up to the fence... it's really not a stretch to let it grow another 3 feet wide, under the fence, for the length of the rv parking only. Not only that, it would have spruced the place up a little. A little stingy if you ask me, especially when they are charging you $35 bucks a night to chill there.
