The only place I would consider are parts of North Thailand, Chang Mai or Chang Rai. It's the mountainous area of Thailand that actually has different seasons other than HOT and HOTTER.

You can live like a King in a mansion with all of the house keepers and wait staff that you would ever need on a pittance compared to the US, Europe or for that matter any place.

Can't fault those choices either ...

In short, the U.S. is diversified and scenic ... other countries are too. different strokes ...

I don't like the cold either. But, realistically Canada would probably be the best bet for me. Maybe some of the central / South American country's would be OK. But, since I've never been that far from home and I could not afford to do it twice Canada would probably be my best option. I think about this very question once and awhile but, for now I'm OK where I am. At 50 years old I'm hoping I can continue to stay here just because it's where I am. We'll see.

We would love a place in Italy, the country is beautiful. But home is America no matter what direction it is taking at present

Message received John... Don't get me wrong people,,, I still think we live in the best country in the world. You can tell by my sig that I served this country, and I really don't plan on going anywhere,,, not to mention we couldn't afford it right now. I just didn't think it would hurt to get the opinions from all the great folks on this site that have actually traveled to other countries. I have a very good friend that is considering moving to his new wife's country. But he's also looking at different states to move to... Guess I'm just getting real tired of the COLD.... Thanks again everybody !!

Just remember, go before you retire because Medicare doesn't cover you out of the States, at least that's what they told me.
