Post up some pics when you get them done.
I painted the fixtures in my S&B bathrooms. When the house was built polished brass was popular. I rubbed them a bit with a fine grit sanding sponge. They actually looked kinda nice like that since brushed brass is becoming popular. But instead, I spray painted them with Rustoleum oil rubbed bronze. They turned out really well & have lasted with no rub-offs since 2014. $7 for the can of paint sure beats $$$ for new fixtures!

Ordered the first of July with every option except the basement freezer. Newmar sent me some pics as it was going through production since the factory tours are not offered right now. Actually got a break from the normal production time...I was being told 5 months plus 1 month since I paid for factory pickup. Evidently, my dealer had a rig already in line at Newmar and moved my order up, saving a couple of months. Excited to drive the new tow car up there, get it all setup for the long, lazy drive back to Houston. This is not my rig, but exactly the same color scheme (it’s an omen...for the 2021 model year, they offered one in Purdue colors (haha).

I believe you will enjoy the Factory Pickup.I have never done it but would if i bought new, even tho I have a good handle on Newmar RV operations - I'd take the FPU option. The FPU is intensive but not intrusive.
The new service center is really something to see. I believe it is very user friendly.
As a long time Newmar owner, I always recommend having warranty and other service performed at the factory service center. Not sure if you have been to Red Bay for service but Newmar is a little different - they go by appointments only. It takes months to get an appointment. So if you have some issues or service you need to have done - I would recommend not waiting to call and make that appointment. And if you travel back to see family in Indy - it's 3 hours straight north of Speedway - I'm in Brownsburg and have made the trip a few times.....
Good luck, I believe you will love your new DS. We have close friends who bought a 2018 DS new - - - made me think about turning in my Canyon Star for a 2019 or 2020 DS - but we have done the DP already and I like the simplicity of my gasser - but those DSs are "comfortable"! LOL
Safe travels.....

Heading South want to stop in Jasper
We are heading to Florida for the winter and we like to take different routes. I was thinking of going south on 37 to I-69 to 231 thru Jasper and taking 231 down to I-165 eventually to stop for the night in Franklin Ky.
I want to stop and eat in Jasper at the Schnitzelbank Restaurant. I know its a long shot but do any of you Indiana people have any suggestions or insight on this idea. You know parking, etc. I would prefer not to unhitch the toad.
Now I know it will be slower than I65 but I don't care about that fact.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info...yes, I have been to Red Bay too many times, hence...the Newmar. I’ll be sure to put down on the calendar a 6 month notice to schedule an appointment. I’m looking forward to the factory pick up, plus I have a tow car I’m driving up there to get the baseplate and braking system installed so i can tow it back. (Sold my other toad). I’ve been very impressed with Newmar thus far from the initial order to date. Thanks again for your info.

I am not aware of anyone on this thread from down that way......If I am wrong - please pipe in!
The roads you want tp travel are good RV roads - I-69 being fairly new at Bloomington - might still be some construction left over but nothing to worry about.
I have been through Jasper - but wasn't looking to park an RV, with tow, at the time - it is your typical Indiana small town.
Why not contact the restaurant - tell them what you want to do - maybe the answer is easy or the Chamber of Commerce.
Good luck - safe travels.....

You can get a pretty good sense of the available space by looking at the satellite view from Google Maps. I took a quick look and would definitely do it with my truck/30' TT if the restaurant wasn't too busy/parking lot too full. I have no experience with a Class A +/- a TOAD, so can't really give you anything more specific than that.

Born and raised in bourbon country, but transplanted to IN a few months ago. We bought our first RV in 2018. Shortly afterward, life got in the way and it's been a whirlwind ever since. We have yet to go camping, but things are finally settling down and feel we will finally get to get our feet wet this spring.

I live in Bloomington, that is a good route to Jasper. Watch the signage closely on the South of Bloomington where 37 and 69 split.
We drive I 69 to I 24 to I 65 S. when going to FL. At Montgomery AL I get on US 321 S all the way to I 10 E to I 75 S. That route is only 67 miles further than using I 75 S, and totally misses the mountain driving and driving through Atlanta.

Welcome to our family......please always feel free to join in - lots of good people here. Spring......in the camping world, "Spring" is here - - LOL If you want to go to a popular IN State Park, there is a 6 month lead time for reservations - if you wait - you may get you're feeling hurt.....

Ray - you did mean US 231????
We travel south the same way. I have looked and looked and looked at other ways to bypass the 231 portion between I-65 & I-10. Without looking, there is another option traveling south a little further down 65 and then cutting over. Looked like 2 lane roads though and did add some miles and time - I'd give give anything not having to go through the towns on 231.....and it's too far out of the way to travel to I-10 on 65.
We also stay 2 nights on the way down - - one just south of the Alabama/Tennessee line - 7 hours from the Indy area and the again in Tallahassee - 6 hours from Alabama stop. I can let you know where if you, or anyone else, need them.
Indian Summer is here......enjoy!

I have a gas unit. Are there plenty of gas friendly fueling stops on this route?
I tow a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and find it difficult enough to find places to fuel along interstates.
We are semi wintering In Titusville, Fl, Jan-Feb-Mar.
I would love to miss both the mountains and Atlanta but am afraid of trying to find fuel.
We live in Vincennes. Feel free to respond off line, aa9zz at hotmail.
Thanks.

You should be fine without unhooking...I would go past the restaurant to next drive and pull into their catering business p'lot. You're from Cicero...know Carl Gehlhausen?
