Inflation...

Just saw on the news that in reality, our current inflation is the highest in our nation's history.
Why? They said if we use the CPI measurements used back in the 70s...our inflation would be about 21%.
I feel really bad for those on fixed incomes and/or retirees.

agree. but on the plus side, interest rates on CD's might go up.

I doubt enough to cover inflation.

I feel for them too. And for those hard working folk who have struggled to make ends meet and put a few bucks in the bank -- then wham, they get hit hard. I'll be glad when this whole mess settles down.

Not until the Fed raises interest rates significantly. And when that happens, our economy will really suffer.

Saw a report the other day that was saying the banks will NEVER pay depositors any appreciable interest on deposited money again, thanks to the the fact the banks now access there money directly from the fed. Some sort of fair money act that spreads the money to all banks rather than keep the main lending areas in larger faster growing more prominent areas.

A $20.61 increase (14.5% increase)

Social Security COLA increase was 5.9%
Which is roughly a $92 avg monthly increase

So YES the SS COLA increase is MORE then the Med B Increase

But it isn't the only increase....fuel, groceries, clothing, etc
Inflation affects all aspects
Guess I'll move to a warmer climate and give up clothing. Look out world!
