Yeah absolutely!!! How dare common sense, a little courtesy, and good customer relations play into this. <sarcasm >

The delivery did not occur in the camp ground and the package was accepted on a public right of way.

Tom, the park manager, has never shown those traits regardless of the name of the park. It is not "under new management"; it is under a new name with the same management.

Sure, a park can have silly rules, but if you put the silly rule under a section titled "Long Term Residents", how is a short term resident supposed to know the silly rule applies to them?

If you received the package off the campground grounds, how was the silly rule violated?

This campground already had a reputation both with residents in that park as well as with other nearby parks, long before this video was streamed.

well, it was listes as a rule but in the full-timers section. as i wrote before..their park, their rules but if the consequence for breaking the rule is accurate the punishment sure doesn't fit the crime.

First bad sign was having 4 pages of rules read to you. Really, 4 pages is a bit excessive.

I would have been out of there fast.

They followed the rules. The rule in question was stated for long term guests. The people kicked out were short term guests.

If a employee accepts a package for delivery to someone that may or may not be staying at their park, or arriving some time in the future, they have incurred some liability. Imagine it would be a pain to try to carry a bunch of packages to a campsite, find now one there and need to leave a message and return it to the office. They need to find a secured storeroom to keep it until the camper comes to pick it up. Will need to check ID's etc. for every package.

Can imagine it would be a royal pain in the butt for them.
Also perhaps have that policy to restrict campers from running a business from their campsite. Might have legal implications as well.

No matter. Looks like this package has caused them all sorts of ill will and loss of business. Camper has slandered them and might also have some liability.

Don’t know if this is on the up and up, but here is what is supposed to be the other side of the story. It’s kind of lengthy.

Well I listened to the first 20 minutes of that, and it does not change the story much.

you should listen to the whole thing.

the witness sounds mostly credible enough to cause me to doubt my initial reaction.

when the story broke my initial response was..."their park, their rules" but i went on to wonder if there was more to the story, but i shouldn't have added that we would never stay there because there is always another side to the story. i know that. we still can't be sure that we have heard all of the facts...we don't know the people who made the video and we don't know the man being interviewed.

based on what we heard the park mgr would seem to be a hard nosed person so that part of the couple's story holds water. but over a nearly 30-yr career in dealing with people filing complaints about one of our 9-1-1 operators i came across many who omitted facts or made their complaint seem more credible by inventing facts. many of those people seemed surprised to learn that all 9-1-1 calls are recorded and were totally caught off guard when i played a recording of their call or provided a transcript of their call.

All I get from that link is the radio announcer talking on the phone to the RV office. Nothing important was said. She just stated all the bad calls and emails she's getting. She didn't explain anything.

Am I missing something?

Also, the RVing couple stated the delivery driver called them from outside the park and that's where the package was picked up.

Here's the Youtube for that "investigative report"

Reading the comments says it all. The "observer" is a self-admitted good friend of the overbearing manager. His story does not jive with the Sheriff's Department report. Looks like Fake Radio News to me.

The reputation of the park is another thing to consider when deciding which side of the story is more truthful.
