Is this dime worth more than $.10 ?

I'm sure there are some coin collectors out there in iRV2 land.. Is this baby worth anything?

My dad collected coins & I used to help him identify them. From the looks of yours, it's in good condition - most likely worth about $1+, mainly because of the silver content. I don't see a mint mark next to the E at the end of the word ONE on the reverse side, which makes it minted in Philly. Hope this helps you.

Just don't clean it or it will lower any value it might have.

I use to have a book on values, then came the internet.

This is a Mercury Dime

Yes more value than $.10, but not enough to get a Starbucks. I have a few in a jar somewhere.

From a collecting standpoint, if you see one in the wild you say "wow, someone spent this?" Then just put it in a jar with the others.

Yes. According to Coinflation.com it is worth almost $1.18 today. Any dime made before 1964 was basically solid silver. The "melt" value of the coin is its major feature.
