I spoke of it's location relevant to the Villages only to give people with little knowledge of the area some reference?
That said, you probably know a lot more about this than I do, but I do know Marion County DOES allow manf. housing, modulars, etc. as does Citrus County, where I'm at. Not too long ago, when somebody brought a "modular" into the Citrus Springs development and started installing it (in direct violation of the deed restrictions), they were in possession of a building permit issued by Citrus County. It was only action by the Citrus Springs Civic Association (the local HOA if you will) that had it removed....
How would that have been handled at Lake Wier?
Are you saying mobile/modular homes are not allowed due to your R-1 zoning? You're pretty sure about that? Just curious, -Al

I didn't see your posted as offensive...an apology isn't necessary (although I appreciate the good faith spirit in which you made it). I just want to clarify that mobile homes are not allowed in Lake Weir Living. Our sites are platted, recorded and subdivided as R1. The Marion County Building Dept will not issue a permit for a mobile home on a R1 site. So, in the situation you mentioned above, that wouldn't happen in Marion County. The Building Dept would have never issued the permit in the first place.

As an alternative, come over to Pine Ridge Estates in Citrus county. I have an RV pad, others have RV garages, and others have high end homes with integral RV garages. Here you'll be close to the gulf and Crystal River.

Thanks to the LWL for your support. This helps to unsure that this forum will continue to grow and remain a free gemstone in an otherwise convoluted RV internet society. I have spent some time studying your development. Looks great and I am sure your residents will "live happily ever after." Personally I don't feel others should offer other alternatives to LWL while these developments and developers don't contribute financially to IRV2. JMO but well thought put!

Rather than focus on the zoo called The Villages, research the other venues in Marion County Most of The Villages is in Lake & Sumter counties.
This is closer than 8 miles.

I could move my business there!!
I own and operate a mowing/snow removal business. I actually enjoy mowing even in the extreme heat. I elect to walk most properties as it is great exercise for me and I am getting paid to do it!
Snow removal, well it's a necessary evil up here, perhaps I could sell off that equipment before we pack up.
Can you see a picture of 5r going down the road pulling a landscaping trailer full of mowers and aerators...
Business is great here but we are ready for new residency in a warmer climate. Thank you LWLC for your sponsorship Trina and I have been checking you out on line!

We have been watching a program on satellite TV that does auction's on property and house's in Fl. for the last year or so. We are finding this place to sound quite interesting more and more as we are still in the freezer up here in MN.I just sent for a Brochure to look at. I am not to keen on hot/humid weather but if they come with a pool that changes the game. Plus a garage to house Betsy is also a selling point do they have HVAC in the Mh garage?
Thanks too LWL for the Advertising.
tb
ps I still think mine would look good in the driveway of the house on the left on the ad

Sure you can have a pool in the backyard and HVAC in the RV garage. Jabird on this forum is building his dream home now (with a screened in pool) at Lake Weir Living.

Here's a map of the Lake Weir Living area, as well as how close we are to The Villages, FL.
