Lake Weir Living Community
I had to think about what forum to put this under...
" This is a forum for friendly, professional, informal exchange of*"NON-RV"*related subjects.*"
Yep, that looks like it.
The top of the page on iRV2 has always been some pretty place with RV's. But all day today it has changed to what looks like a banner ad for a Community near "The Villages" in Florida named Lake Weir Living Community.
I did a search and saw 2 threads about it...looks like a housing development.
Can an advertiser buy the sites header as an ad?
Is everybody seeing this too, or is it just me?
Safe travels

They are also advertising in this month's FMCA magazine.

I see the header too, I don't have any idea what it is.

Yes, I see it too. I guess it could be RV related. The properties come with RV garges, or ports or pads.

I clicked . . . sure didn't see much related to the RV house pictured. Maybe I missed something, but really didn't want to devote much time to it.
Poor one to start the whole advertising banner thing. IMHO. I liked the pretty picture thing better.

Lake Weir Living contacted us about advertising their RV friendly housing development in Florida. They embrace RVers and folks who might want to have boats, shops and other amenities that many adventurous folks enjoy. They don't have any HOA fees and are located near the Villages for people who enjoy all the activities found in that area.
Their header will remain at the top of iRV2 for a few months. We'll work with them to see if we can touch up the photo so it's more clear what it's about. It would also be great to get a photo with a motorhome in the driveway.
Please take some time to go check out their site, it's very gracious of them to step forward and help support our community. They understand how special iRV2 is and want to embrace our members. We feel this was a good fit as it might be of interest to many members who would like a nice garage to house their rigs and a shop to work on side projects!

Thanks to the Admin for the explanation.
Totally agree that a pic with a RV in one of those tall garage doors would be cool.
I did surf around their website. But had to stop and do some research when I looked at the address on Google Earth - 4 Bay Track Way, Ocklawaha, FL...what is that I am looking at a few miles northeast of the development...closed military airfield...alien landing field...?
...Well, it's the Pinecastle Bombing Range...complete with aircraft shaped targets and old helicopters.
Pine Castle Bombing Range
Florida is a wild and wonderful place!
Thanks again.
Safe travels

One of the reasons as to why Lake Weir Living joined our community is simply because several of their resident RV home owners are iRV2.com members and they spoke highly of our Community to the management.
We appreciate our members endorsement and like Andy shared with you already, we appreciate Lake Weir's support for our site.

I think it's interesting they base their ad on close to The Villages they are!
Why not just buy in the The Villages then?

We had a look at the Lake Weir Community. It does offer homes that "can" have RV carports/pads/garages. The add is not deceptive but could certainly be more clear. In a different add they specify the same community is motorcycle friendly. Nothing wrong with that ... just a different audience they are trying to reach.
BTW ... the REAL attraction is "no HOA".

I agree. No matter where you go in Florida, if you want one of those types of RV properties, the "HOA" is always something that you have consider as being a long term thing that just won't go away. It's like a permanent saddle burr.

Yes, I think the options are there for a tall RV Garage, an RV Port or just an RV Pad. I have to go up that way today. Maybe we'll take a swing through if we have time.

We currently have a house under construction at Lake Weir Living. The house is around 2600 sq ft while the garage is 2500 sq ft. part of the garage is a 45'x16' RV garage with FULL hook-ups inside. We also will have a two car bay and an extend and enlarged garage bay for our F350 crew cab dually to fit in. We're also having a 45'x14' RV pad installed to the exterior of the RV garage with 50 amp service and water hook-ups for our visiting RV friends. We're also having a screened-in solar heated pool out the back.
The developer has been great to work with in designing "our" home. They have about 8-10 floor plans on their website; however, you can customize them ANY way YOU want. We're looking at a March turn-key date.
The general contractor has been great also. The company has been family owned in Marion County FL since 1871. Over the years they have been specializing in $1.5+ mil homes and upper-end commercial properties and now have decided to work with the $150-$500 class homes, and bringing their upper-end professionalism with them.
LWL has advertised in Motorhome, Hot Rod, and HOG magazines of the last few years,
Enclosed is a recent shot of our house under construction, the stucco was just completed.
This place is out in the country 8 miles north of The Villages, but NO HOA fees or restrictions. We're also about a half-hour south of Ocala. Lake Weir is also about an hour from either coast, about and hour from Orlando (outside the tourist environment), and about 10 miles east from I-75.
If you have any questions for a soon to be home owner at LWL, please send me a note.

HD4Mark, If you go full screen the logo moves over to the left and it's no longer a problem.
