Congratulations Larry and Rita,

In March of 2007 Sharon and I were in the exact place you are in today. I retired on April fools day and we closed on selling out house on April 13th, which was a Friday. Since then we have spend a total of 6 nights out of our coach. We love our coach/ home and we love this life style. Safe travels.

We handed the house keys to a realtor on January 15 this year and have been FT ever since. The house sold in April. We do not miss it at all!

Some folks want new. Me included. I have the means and I'm just not interested in someone else's old motorhome.

I retired Wednesday and we will spend our last night in the S & B tonight. Still have a month in the area to finish emptying the house and saying goodbye but we will be in the MH starting tomorrow.

We got lucky and my son is taking the house and we will be full-timing. A little nervousness about leaving my comfort zone, but fired up about the adventure that awaits us!

Congratulations, Larry & Rita. A lot of people around here would love to know your secret to selling the house that quickly. There are many homes around here have been on the market for over two years.

The longest wait ended a few months ago when a spec-built home on the marina waterfront, that was originally advertised at $1.44 million, sold for $540,000. The builder was foreclosed and went bankrupt and the lender that bought it at a foreclosure auction didn't get a buyer for four years.

When the lot was for sale, my wife commented that it must be one of the most valuable canine latrines in the world at $429K. The eventual buyer got a 2600 square foot house with a 40' marina dock for only $110,000 more than the lot was worth.

Keep us posted on your purchasing adventure. Hope to see you stop by after our family has the Labor Day weekend bash and our overseas visitors head home. I'll wander down to the Beach Club Cabana Park in the next couple of days and check whether those FHU sites can handle a 40-footer.
