Exactly so.
They've abdicated they're responsibility and expect the schools to handle the chores.
Then, when the school exercises discipline, they threaten suit.

Who'da thought as a kid going down the road laying on the package tray, Dad doing 70 mph with bias tires, drum brakes, no AC, both Mom and Dad smoking. Metal dashboard with a solid steering wheel with all kinds of pokey things, no seatbelts, AM radio, open beer bottle was known as TX crotch air conditioning.
And best of all, Mom bless her heart, could stop you from going through the windshield with just her arm in front of you.
Amazing any of us survived..

Are you all saying that your children are turning your grandchildren into idiots, I think not. Some parents are as you say but I believe the majority are working hard to give the children a better life, I know my children are. I'm quite proud to say all 7 of my grandchildren are smarter than I was at their age, and believe they will be prepared for life as it is now.

Well, I believe it has been established we were blessed.
As for our kids raising idiots: none of my kids or grand-children have worn/wear their hats like Rootie Kazootie or have their pants hanging low enough to be an advertisement for soiled Fruit of the Loom.
When looking around, far too many do.

I keep hoping someone invents time travel, cause the future sure don't look promising and I don't know if I want to be there.

Nope, it sure doesn't.
I'd prefer to die unenlightened and firmly in my ignorance.

Hondo,
Your youth is showing.
Rootie Kazootie was a character on an early TV show who wore his ball cap's bill off to the side of his head. Very much like the goofy way kids do today (I guess it keeps their ears from getting sun-burned).
The show was of the same time frame as Howdy Doody and Kukla, Fran and Ollie (puppets were big back then).

At least not when parents or grandparents are looking lol. In the late 50s tight pegged pants (so tight it took a zipper at the ankles) worn low on the hips with a really narrow belt and a T shirt with cig pack rolled into the sleeve was the fashion for guys. My father would have had a roaring fit had he seen me dressed like that. That's why we always kept a change of clothes in the trunk. Imagine my surprise (and his) when I ran into him downtown one night. We both got over it, though.
We never worried when our kids dressed funny or their hair was different than we would have liked. They quickly outgrew the foolishness and turned out ok (2 are physicians, the oldest, our Colonel, is somewhere in the mountains of Afghanistan). Was looking through some old photos last week and found one of my Grandfather as a young man in his zoot suit. Children of every generation are rebellious - comes with the hormones.
