Like checking the current weather? Take your station console with you..
I have an extensive Davis weather station installation at home. I have thought about how to adapt a Davis system to on-the-road use in our motorhome.
On a whim, I brought along a spare Davis Vantage Pro 2 wireless console on this cross country trip. (CA to IL and back)
So far, in the first 2 nights, the console has picked up the signal from a Davis outdoor sensor suite presumably within the stated Davis range of 1000 feet.
I'll report my experiences over the rest of the trip, if there is interest.

Why not just use your cell phone?
My and every other iPhone will give you local weather any place that you have data coverage.
Happy Glamping.

Alternative
I don't trust the data my phone provides, for example, maybe OP doesn't either. I have a station at home, a Davis as well, but for the road, I use an AcuRite, plan on changing it for a La Crosse I found digging around here, seems more dependable https://www.optimainstitute.com/weather/station.html
Nonetheless, wouldn't ever use the phone app as guidance cause it has failed me many times. And this isn't an Android vs iOS issue, mobile weather apps seem to be faulty quite often, can't afford to rely on them. Or maybe I just had a bad experience and can't get myself to trust it anymore.

Please excuse my ignorance but what besides the wind speed does that $550 Davis unit give that my $50 Ambient doesn't? I still need a smart phone or computer to see a storm's path and intensity which to me is most important.
Curiosity only, not a criticism

I suggest going on line to Ventusky, com for all your weather needs.

Being of Norwegian decent, and having a Norwegian wife, I rely on yr.no for good weather information.
It covers the whole world, has hour by hour, daily and long term forcasts that seem to be as accurate or better than the local forcast.
And yes, you can get it in English or Norwegian.
Happy Glamping.
