Ok, well I take the blame here.... DW wanted to buy the Corelle for RV at our 1st store we visited. She found exactly what she wanted but I talked her out of it based on it getting bounced around when we FT. I told her it would chip and also contribute to added weight. The box she picked out was about 30 lbs. Even though it was more than we really needed. Thanks for all of the input, I know in our previous RV's we have stayed with plastics/melamine and disposable. Moving into FT where this is stuff we will be using every day, we should have got your opinions earlier. Guess we will head back to where she saw the Corelle she liked in the first place and put the other stuff on our next sale.

We all learn to admit defeat when out numbered. Really we do like the corelle, it stacks so compactly, and you can add to the pieces as you find need.

BTW as previously mentioned by someone else. We looked at Melamine dishes again at Target and they are stamped on bottom and has sticker that state not microwave safe.

The ones we had purchased elsewhere do not have any such indication, but knowing the Corelle is durable enough to handle RV life will make the switch.

We fulltime. I have two sets of dishes, one Corelle and one set of fine china for four places (the other 8 places are in storage). I have my fine china in thin styrofoam sleeves and they travel well. Most of the time we eat on the Corelle but for special occasions we use the china. I also have my Swarovski Crystal pieces displayed in my hutch. I use clear museum putty to hold them in place. It's all about making the RV a home and not just a camper. That's what works for us.
