Mines you can tour
Now that the miners in Chile have been rescued, there are a number of mines you can tour in the US. Some of my favorites include:
1. Molly Kathleen gold mine in Cripple Creek, CO
2. Lackawanna coal mine in Scranton, PA
3. Dutch Copper mines in Delaware Water Gap Rec Area, NJ
4. Various abandoned iron mines in Harimann State Park, NY
5. Sterling Zinc Mines in Ogdensburg, NJ (see flourescent minerals under black light)
Anyone know of others to tour?

I think there is one in Leadville, CO - or at least I was told it was an option on a trip I took there this past summer. I wasn't interested.

Did they open up Bunker Hill to the public? Or is there another mine in the area?

I was there 15/20years ago. I don't remember the name but it was on the North edge of town. It may not have been Wallace but I am pretty sure it was. I know we stopped there.

I went by there, but they were open the day I was in town, so I had to pass and go and ride the Route of the Hiawatha instead .

Perhaps an 870 Remington might make better choice for safety. Rough!! We just had a shoot out at a Halloween Party in our "City Too Busy to Hate"
