I'm buying a 5th wheel for permanent setup on our RV Lot from another lot owner. His insurance agent has him insured as a Mobile home. I was just going to drop collision but I am curious as to the advantage. Would appreciate any input before I contact my insurance company. Txs

On a "home owners" policy the lot would also be covered for liability issues. An RV liability policy normally covers YOUR liability for any TEMPORARILY used lot not owned by you.
At the very least I would put IN WRITING to your agent what you were doing and what you were doing it with!

I should have mentioned I have an Umbrella Policy currently that includes up to 4 properties. I've emailed GMAC for an opinion as well.
