Navigating Tampa RV supershow in January

Hi all. I will be attending the RV supershow in Tampa in January. It's my first real RV exhibition (the others were much, much smaller). I want to look at Class B and C's under 25 feet, and have a few manufacturer's in mind. Is the supershow arranged by manufacturer? Is there a list of all RV models on display so you can go to what you want to look at? Any other advice to make the show more enjoyable (or less frustrating)? I'm not buying for another 6 months to a year and want to thin the choices. FYI - I'm not easily tempted, swayed or impulsive. Thanks for the help and tips.

As soon as you pay your entrance fee.....BTW, the fee allows for 2 days entry to the show because it’s that big.

You’ll also find brochures outlining where all the manufacturers are located on the fair grounds. Do you know which brands you’re interested in? Lots and lots to see. Make sure you where very comfy shoes.

Wife and I have been there 3 years in a row and planning to attend this year. Have your pen and pad ready. The first time we walked through the gate...WOW.. overwelmed. After waklking around for an hour or 2 we began to see how it was layed out. The map that someone attached is perfect. Once you start to narrow down your search it becomes easier. We now have narrowed down our search to 3 different companies for a class A. We are retiring in 3.5 years, so we will probably make the trip the next 3 years, then pull the plug. If we dont buy new at least we will know what the previoyus years have 9in them if we decide to buy used. Also we get away from the snowing cold weather here in Maine for a 4 or 5 day vacation. If we can help send a note.

We have not attended the Tampa show but have been to "America's Largest RV Show" in Hershey, PA, twice. The big shows can be overwhelming at first but they provide a wonderful opportunity to see many RVs in one place at one time.

As previously suggested, take a notebook with you, and I'd suggest taking as many notes - and photos - as you can. After you've walked through dozens of units, it's difficult to remember which rig had what features once you're back home. Wear comfortable clothing and good walking shoes, make a plan to see what you want based on the map provided in an earlier comment, take your time and definitely plan on going back a second day to re-visit any favorites and ask the questions you've thought of after your first day of touring the show. Be sure to pick up brochures of any RVs you're interested in - they will serve as a solid reminder of the rigs you looked at and they'll provide the specs that will prove useful when you're making a decision down the road.

Enjoy the adventure!

We went a few years ago and it was overwhelming. The salesmen were very pushy which turned us right off. We will not go back.

The regional shows like the one at the Daytona Speedway have nearly as many RV's to look at and are arranged both by type and manufacturer. I.E. All Winnebago Class C's on the class C row, then Thor's etc. Class A's on an adjacent row, grouped by manufacturer close to their Class, C's. Not only is Daytona more low key, it is also FREE, parking is Free, and they give out FREE hot dogs and drinks. The show usually spans a couple of weekends and is open all week, so you can take your time.

The shows like the speedway are put on by only one dealer.... Very low selection. Went once and never again....not worth the time.
