New teeth

I was born with bad teeth.
Really good/strong roots but teeth are of poor quality.
Dad's side of family.'
Mom had a mouth full of 'Chiclets'...beautiful teeth.

When I was a working stiff I HAD good Dental but rarely took advantage of it

After retirement I have slowly but surely have had to have work done and usually end up with extractions due to poor quality of tooth.

Decided to git r done and get a set of uppers......only had 5 teeth left and none worth any attempts at saving
So yesterday the ole Dentist yanked away.
And I have a great looking set of upper teeth.

Now if I could just wear them
Man am I SORE!

Got Dental Coverage>>>> USE IT Frequently and Routinely.

I got uppers and lowers. All pulled at once and waited several months to get new. Best deal waiting. Haven't needed any adjustments and fit great for 10 + years.

I got full set about 10 years ago.
Our dental insurance through work is pretty good, but had to get uppers one year and lowers the next.
The lowers were definitely the worse getting used to!

4 days after extractions I was still bleeding from one of the holes were back molar had been
Now I had expected some extended bleeding as I am on Warfarin .
The other 4 holes had clotted and were healing but not that one and wearing the uppers was IRRITATING

Dentist had to go back in and remove some bone splinters...then close it up with a few stitches
Now I am trying to get use to wearing the uppers

And you say getting use to Lowers was harder????

Next month will be attacking the lowers!!

Once this knee replacement completely heals I will be getting a complete mouth overhaul! It's been overdue for a long time and just can't wait any longer.

Old Biscuit, I'll be following your progress!

Yeah, it's harder. The pressure from biting down(up) was very tough to take! I kept looking for soft foods for lunch.
Lets just say that I ate Wendy's chili and a lot of fried rice for lunch for about 3 weeks!

An older couple entered a fast-food restaurant, she found a table and sat down while her husband ordered. When the 1 hamburger, 1 coke and1 order of fries was delivered to their table, the woman began counting out fries into 2 piles while the husband unwrapped the hamburger and cut in in half.

The wife sat quietly with folded hands while he was eating. The manager noticed this, went to their table and asked if anything was wrong.

The wife said "no, I'm just waiting on the teeth.

If you had teeth extracted you should be in a temp denture until the gums heal then you go back and get it relined or another denture. If you have a spot that hurts your gums your dentist should relieve that spot or take you a dremel tool and relieve it.

Until last December I still had all 32. I now have 31 after one split because the dentist way long ago loved to drill any spot that had a brown spot and after looking at the x-rays, suspect his excavations will cost me more pain - mouth and wallet. My medical plan is good but the dental plan ... sucks.

My parents both had poor teeth. My dad - lost all his and wore falsies from about age 45. My mom had upper and lower bridges. My outlook for OEM teeth as I soon will enter into my dotage - not good. I believe my current dentist is planning his kids college education on my teeth.

I have a full upper and partial lower.

My dentist advised to leave a couple roots (had root canals years ago) to prevent bone loss. He was absolutely right..... my upper and lower jaw line has not changed and the dentures still fit as good as the day they were new.... about 10 yrs now.

Some friends returned from Mexico where she got all implants instead of false teeth. It took about a month for the process.
